England's Golf Coast has hosted some of the most prestigious UK golf events and championships. In total it has hosted 30 Open Championships, 6 Ryder Cups, numerous Walker Cups, Curtis Cups, Amateur Championships, Ladies Opens, Ladies Amateurs, PGA events... the list goes on!

2008 saw the return of the Open Championship to the Royal Birkdale Golf Club. This was the 9th time the club hosted what is arguably the greatest golf tournament in the world.

The Open Championship will return to the Golf Coast in 2012 at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club. This will be the 11th time that Royal Lytham has hosted this event. For more information visit www.opengolf.com
