One of many superb courses in Cumbria, Windermere Golf Club is situated in the heart of the beautiful Lake District with spectacular views over Lake Windermere and the surrounding fells. The course has been referred to as a 'miniature Gleneagles' and is popular choice for both social and competitive golf.

A 9-hole course was created at Cleabarrow Falls, Windermere in 1891. There were 34 gentlemen members, with ladies being admitted a year later. Less than two years after inauguration, the course was extended to 18 holes. One acre of land was purchased from the landowners, the Church, and a clubhouse was built.

Built of Lakeland stone, the Clubhouse provides spectacular views over the surrounding fells. The spacious first floor lounge and bar, with balcony overlooking the course and surrounding countryside, is the perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy a drink after a hard day's golfing.
