Describe the Southport & Ainsdale course for us.
It's a straightforward course, but it offers a different set of challenges every day because of the wind and the weather conditions. A hole can play short one day and long the next. There are a few blind tee shots and of course the sixteenth, which is notorious for its second up and over the railway sleepers, so it's varied and always kept interesting by the conditions. You might play it three different days in three different ways.
What advice would you give someone playing S&A for the first time?
That's actually quite a difficult question to answer because, as I say, the course really will be different depending on what day you're here. The best thing to do is to take good notice of the prevailing conditions and shape your round around them, because they'll dictate how you play.
