West Kirby Marine Lake

Set on the very tip of the Peninsula with stunning views of the Welsh Hills and the Dee Estuary, West Kirby Marine Lake is a man-made saltwater lake and is fast becoming a top tourist destination.

It is 52 acres in size, 5 foot deep and totally enclosed, making it an exceptionally safe facility.

The Lake is home to the Wirral Watersports Centre, which offers courses in sailing, windsurfing, powerboating and paddlesports, making it the ideal place to indulge your adventurous side.

The less energetic can also enjoy West Kirby’s Marine Lake by taking a leisurely stroll around the border of the lake or along the stretch of beach from West Kirby to Red Rocks at Hoylake.

Water sports fans are reminded to wear appropriate footwear whilst using the marine lake due to the presence of weaver fish with sharp poisonous barbs

Private craft can be admitted by purchase of daily, annual or seasonal lake licence.
