Meols Beach

At the end of Meols Parade and the junction with Bennets Lane, this
is one of Wirral’s quieter beaches but which is becoming increasingly
popular with powerkites and sand boarders. The high sea wall and
access down the public slipway may account for the fewer bathers
here but the expanse of sand and fresh breeze attracts more active
pursuits and the lifeguards are available during the summer months
to provide information and advice on tide times and safe access.

Toilet facilities and an information noticeboard are located next to the
beach on Meols Parade and the 4-mile long North Wirral Coastal
Park that has just been awarded the prestigious Green Flag by the
Tidy Britain Group starts at the Coastguard Station overlooking the
beach. This beach is ‘recommended’ by the Marine Conservation
Society (MCS) and flies a MCS flag showing their endorsement of the
cleanest bathing beach water quality obtainable in Europe at this site.
