Signature hole: 16th
'gumbley's', 508 yards , Par 5
Named after a gentleman who spent significant time in its sand traps and on the 20 foot-high bank lined with railway sleepers, Gumbley's is a picturesque hole that offers a birdie opportunity with the right shot - yet many promising cards have been wrecked here. The tee-shot is a long drive towards the sleepers, some 300 yards away. The second shot is high above the sleepers and over the brow of the hill. The green is long and narrow and lies in front of a dune. Don't go long, and don't be fooled by the beauty of the hole - Gumbley's is a formidable challenge.
