Memorable Moment
The 2002 English Seniors Championship was a nailbiter, with defending champion Roy Smethurst aiming for a third successive victory. Competition newcomer Doug Arnold, having left his wife at home to deal with a flooded kitchen from a broken pipe, remained unphased however, snatching the title from Smethurst by a single shot. Over 54 holes, he notched an impressive winning aggregate of 224 - despite the domestic drama!
