What advice would you give someone playing Formby Hall for the first time?

Make sure you have a bag full of balls - Seriously! There are numerous lakes and ponds here, so water comes into play on all but two holes on the golf course. If you lose your concentration or you're a little bit wayward, I'm afraid you'll find a watery grave.

What's been your favourite moment on the course?

A really tough one because of the Challenge Tour and Seniors Tour events we've held here and the fabulous list of golfers past and present who've played... but I would have to pick something a little closer to home and say that it was watching my 14-yearold brother break the course record to win the scratch club championship by a massive eight shots! That was a wonderful day.

Who would join you in your fantasy four-ball to play the course?

My ideal four-ball would have to include myself, my dad and my brother. Not only are they my family but they're a fantastic pair of fellas and two of the fiercest competitors I've ever met and teed it up with. There would be a big battle out on the course just between us, but then the fourth player that I would choose would probably be Tiger Woods, because the guy is making history every time he pegs it up. It would be great to actually compete against the man having watched his career develop from afar, and to understand what it feels like to face up to the aura he has when he's competing.
