The Dairy, The Shippon, The Stable and The Granary are four beautiful self catering holiday cottages. The Stable is a 5 star, fully accessible cottage with all ground floor accommodation. It has two double bedrooms which can be presented as king sized or twin beds as required and the disabled bedroom has en suite wet room specifically equipped for the disabled guest. The Dairy sleeps 2, The Shippon sleeps 4 and The Granary sleeps 6. These 3 cottages have 4 star accreditation. All the cottages are superbly decorated and furnished to a very high standard. They have full central heating, fully fitted kitchens with every modern convenience and fully equipped for a relaxing and carefree holiday. All bedding and towels are included in the rental as is the heating and electricity. We are a non smoking establishment and do not accept pets. Whether your ideal holiday is to relax in the country, hit the tourist trail, play golf or ‘shop till you drop’, then this is the perfect base. Situated in the heart of rich arable farmland of West Lancashire, peace and tranquility are guaranteed. You will wake refreshed and relaxed to the sound of bird song. We have a large garden for the use of the whole family, and an enclosed courtyard for safe parking. Each cottage has its own patio furniture for 'al fresco' dining. Tourist destinations close by include the Victorian seaside resort of Southport, the market town of Ormskirk, Martin Mere Wildfowl Trust and the historic (and haunted) Rufford Old Hall. Within a 30 minute drive you can be in Blackpool, taking a trip on the River Mersey or visiting one of a whole range of theme parks within the North West region. Our central location makes a day trip to the Lake District, the Peak National Park the Yorkshire Moors, or even North Wales coastal resorts all a possibility. Liverpool One, The Trafford Centre, Cheshire Oaks, Ormskirk Market and Liverpool’s Heritage Market help make the area a shoppers paradise. Golf Courses abound and Liverpool, Everton, Manchester Utd and Manchester City Football Clubs are easily accessible.

Leave the M6 at jct 27, take the A5209 for 8 miles to the T JUNCTION with the A59. (Do not be tempted to turn off at any 'mini' islands, keep on until you reach the T juction) At the T junction, turn left onto the A59. After approx. 1 mile turn right onto the B5242. Stay on the B5242 for 2 miles until you pass the 'HEATONS BRIDGE' then take the 1st right, Drummersdale Lane, then right again, Merscar Lane. At the bottom of the lane turn RIGHT again onto Martin Lane after a few hundred yards, the road turns to the left but there is a hump backed bridge in front of you. (Take care at this junction as it is a blind bend and traffic approaching from the left has right of way.) Go over the bridge and we are about 300yds on the right. We do have a sign outside. Visitors to the Dairy, Shippon or Granary use the first drive, for the Stable use the next drive.
From New Lane railway station take New Lane towards Burscough. Take 1st right into Gorst Lane, at the end of Gorst Lane turn left over the bridge. Property is 4th on the right. (approx 1.5 miles) The nearest bus stop is at Heatons Bridge. The quickest way is to walk along the canal to the next bridge, go over the bridge and we are 4th on the right(approx 1.5 miles)
