The historic city of Lancaster is only 9 miles away with its splendid Castle, Priory and maritime Museum, whilst the bright lights of Blackpool are only 25 miles away. For golfers there is Royal Lytham, Royal Birkdale and local golf courses within easy reach. Locally there is the lovely town of Garstang winner of Britain in Bloom, Small Country Town, with its shops, open air Thursday market, welcoming pubs and the famed December Victorian Christmas festival. If all that seems too far the local shop and pub is only a 2 mile stroll away in Scorton, a popular spot for cyclists to enjoy a refreshment stop. Leave M6 at jct 33, head south towards Garstang, take a left turn into Gubberford Lane, signposted Scorton. Over the stone bridge, turn right into Hazelhead Lane. Follow road until past Barnacre Church, then left into Eidsforth Lane.
